First Week in Seoul (Day 1)
Hello All! Although it is my 4th day in Seoul I think Ill just tell you about each day as it went but first off…
I made it and am LOVING Korea.
I am staying at Duksung University, which is a small All women’s university here in Seoul. I, of course am use to the All womens thing, but its really different than Wellesley I must say- but more on that later.
Day 1.
As many of you know I STRONGLY DISLIKE airplanes and airports. It never goes well for me. I always end-up in super un-tasty situations that normal people dont usually encounter lol but my experinece with traveling to Korea was beautiful! So I took it as Jesus telling me relax, everything will be fine. I was really worried bc I had to transfer flights in Detroit and the first plane I was on was delayed like 40 mins, and there is no convienent re-booking of a flight from America to Korea lol but before I got on the plane in Detroit, I met some Korean college students who were studying in America and making their way back home. we decided to stick together and make sure we all made the flight on time, and we did! With time to spare- twas very beautiful indeed.
On the plan I met another college student who was in graduate school, and really I think God sent her b.c she helped me so much, and I didnt ask her for anything, she just offered. I didnt have a phone so she called the professor Im staying with and clarified everything to make sure it wasnt a scam, and then she gave me her number and e-mail so that I could contact her later to tell her I was safe. Jesus is so funny o ) But after I said bye to her I was on my own.
A couple of men tried (hard) to scam me, but when I spoke to them in Korean they backed off lol I found the bus that was to take me to the station I had to get off at and sat back for the 2 hour bus ride. A student, and now good friend of mine met me at the station and made sure I was safe and settled. When She left it was only about 7:00pm but I was DEAD tired so I gave my bed a try, and didnt wake unitl 8 the next morning.
Twas a Beautiful first day!
